Getting There
There are several different options to reach Kambako and the most efficient route is for clients to arrive and depart through Pemba, Mozambique, which is serviced twice a week by South African Airways on a direct flight from Johannesburg to Pemba and return on a Wednesday and Sat and 3 times a week by Mozambician LAM airways on Wed / Friday and Sunday from Joburg to Pemba via Maputo the Capital of Mozambique. Should conditions dictate, there are other options, via Lilongwe in Malawi, Harare in Zimbabwe and Dar-res- Salaam in Tanzania that can be arranged. Please request your local travel agent to assist you with your travel and accommodation arrangements prior to and after the contracted period. Accommodation requirements in Pemba can be arranged through Kambako and we promote the use of our Pemba Beach Lodge. See photos below.

Traveling from Pemba to Kambako
Clients can overnight in Pemba at Kambako’s Beach Lodge, or fly directly from Pemba to camp after getting off their commercial flight with a small Cessna 207 or if necessary due to big numbers and luggage weight a Cessna Caravan or with a twin engine if one so wishes. These bookings are done through Kambako.

Customs, visas and firearms:
- Customs – customs clearance is operative at your port of entry into South Africa and into Mozambique. You must have a passport, valid for a minimum of 6 months beyond intended date of departure from Mozambique and have 2 blank pages in your passport.

- Visas - All non-Mozambique citizens MUST have a visa. Visas are available upon arrival at Pemba Airport for a nominal $25 fee.

- Firearms – Prior to your arrival in Mozambique all firearms and ammunition require Import Permits and Police clearances that are issued in Maputo.

At least 3 months prior to your arrival we require the following information to be emailed to us in .jpg format:
i. Scanned copy of your passport page
ii. Scanned copy of a passport size photo
iii. For American clients – Scanned copy of your Customs Form 4457
iv. For European clients – Scanned copy of your Firearm licence
